Key Fob re-coding question

Does anyone know if it is possible to re-code a key fob from another MDX to my vehicle? I found a nice used one to replace my worn out one and was hoping I can program it to work. I know you can buy new ones and program them, but was wondering about one that has been programmed for another vehicle. Thanks for any help.

I think you can, your best answer will probably come from an Acura dealer though.

Yes you can. It just needs to be the same remote as the one they used for that particular model year, I believe. Instructions here:

Remote Programming

Good luck!

Thanks! It is identical and for memory seats. I just Paypal'd the seller the funds. $25 shipped for one in mint shape sure beats $85 for a new one!

Well, I got the new/used one, tried and tried to get it to work with the instructions provided, with no luck. So, I just took the insides out of my old one and put in the new one. Looks much better and works like a charm.
