Slight ticking noise
In engine i have noticed lately. Since ive meticulously have maintained it the only thing i can think of maybe my valves need to be adjusted, my 05 has 119,000 miles. Anyone know what kind of noise valves that need to be adjusted make? It kind of seems like the slight ticking noise is coming from like the bottom of the engine.

Agree. If the tick is in the back bank it will sound like it's coming from the bottom of the engine, or if your in a drive through you may hear it bouncing of the wall. If it has not be done with that type of millage it's time anyway. My ticks have always cleared up with valve adjustments.

My MDX makes a similar noise that also sounds like it is from the bottom end.
The noise I experience is at the frequency of the noise depicted in this video (Timing Tensoiner) I am thinking it is either rod knock or the timing belt tensioner as it did not make the noise prior to timing belt service. My noise goes away once over 1500rpm so I'm leaning towards belt vibration against tensioner arm. Valve tick is a pretty rapid tap, even at idle speeds. The noise will be at about twice the frequency of the tensioner noise.

Those two videos clearly are valvetrain issues. Doubt that adjustment will make a difference in the second one . Once you hear that clacking everything needs replacement. Cam shaft followers etc

Neither of those videos are my MDX. My sound is much lighter and like yours, it actually sounds louder from underneath. It is refreshing to know that yours was just a valve adjustment. There is still hope for me! My independent Honda mechanic recognized the noise but said he wouldn't adjust the valves unless there were drivability issues. I will be doing the adjustment myself and hope to see a slight increase in fuel economy.
Please update if you notice any difference in your mileage. Thank You
