No idea why Acura does that, but yes, you can get the cheaper one and swap covers. For the difference in price, I would.

Tried searching but couldn't find how to remove center dome light cover to get to module. Tried prying the edge but didnt seem like it wanted to come off.

I finally figured it out. I just simply removed 1 of the lights and mirror plastic film thing. And then I yanked out the black centerpiece that will come off and then you unplug the plugs. And then remove the 4 screws. Thats it.
