Driver Window Issue

My driver door window will not roll down. I press the button and I hear no sound form the motor; nothing happens. There were no signs of any trouble up until that point; every thing was working great and then nothing. Is this most likely a motor issue, fuse issue, or something else I don't know about? What can I do to diagnose?

Any help/advice is appreciated.

UPDATE:

When I remove the window control panel from the driver door arm rest the window works. When I hold it in my hand it will intermittently work…seems like having it get jostled around a little bit gets it going. Once I put it back in the arm rest where it belongs the window no longer goes up or down. All other 3 windows work with out problem.

I see there is a circuit board inside this panel and I'm wondering if there is a short something. Is it common for them to go bad?

From your description the Power Window Master Switch is at fault or the connections to it. If it works at all it’s not likely a motor, mechanical, or fuse problem.

The Service Manual has some troubleshooting info for this but is rather involved.

After closely inspecting the connectors/connections to the Master Switch I would consider changing out the Switch Assy.

Tim has a Master Switch Assy. for $120.

This “Shot Gun” approach may seem expensive but probably less then what a Dealer would charge as a first course of action.

Found the Problem

Discovered the problem was a soldered connection between two wires that went bad. My guess is it's the connection for my security module that rolls up my windows when I arm my vehicle, but not 100% sure. I would have thought it would have affected all my windows if it were that, but who knows.

Good news is I found the problem and I don't have to spend $100 on a new control module.

Does anyone know what the part number is for the unit that sits under the armrest on the driver door that controls the power window master switch. Having a tough time finding it here.
