Fair Price
Just getting ready to start negotiating. What would be a fair price for a 2010 MDX with technology and entertainment? What is invoice? What is a good "out the door" price (including fees, etc.)?
I appreciate any help anyone can give me. I hate the negotiating phase.

Try edmunds.com for the invoice and truecar.com as well.

Invoice is $44,642 with destination. There are no incentives right now, but hold back is approx. $1300. You should be able to get at least invoice. If they give up the entire holdback, that would put it at $43,325. During the negotiation, make sure they understand that your offer includes any dealership fees - if they try to add any later in the paperwork, cross them out and retotal. Registration fees and sales tax should reflect the actual fees/taxes charged by your city/state.
An easy way to buy without negotiating in person is to send an email to several local dealership internet sales managers requesting their best price on the vehicle you want. Then play them against each other via email to get the lowest price. |

Yes, I am very aware of those. The reason for this board is to get information beyond that, correct???

Thank you for your input, I appreciate it. I go back to the dealership to negotiate in a bit. Hate that part!

I wonder if you contacted the Internet manager if you would get a better deal...

Taking into account your a woman or pretending to be one=Carolina girl/ and upset at your up comming "bartering" of your cash for goods. Buying new is foolish 9 times out of 10. Try to buy one a year or 2 old private party w/service records. Search the internet, you might be able to get one in another state really cheap. Or a LNIB Demo if you intend to keep it till it dies."" Try to pay cash"". If you have to buy new paying 12% to 15% off sticker w/no destination charges is the norm as I recall. I like "bartering", its like the *margin's [ask/bid] in stock purchasing. Good Luck!

Well, I am the proud owner of my second MDX. I got the Aspen White Pearl. I love it!!! It has so many great features. I am trying to get used to the navigation system that is non-touch screen.
Thanks for your responses. I am a woman, btw. Unfortunately a fairly young widow. Well, I still think of myself as young. LOL. This is the first car I have bought bartering without my husband. So, I was nervous about it. My dealership is wonderful, and since I already know people there, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Thanks again, this forum is so helpful.

I do not know how much you paid for yours, even though is does not matter as long as you are happy. I picked my 2010 silver/ebony tech/ent two weeks ago for 43, 614, so they only made about $300 on their hold backs. This placed me at around 1k below invoice. Finally, I added silver rails, silver crossbars, adv running boards and all weather mats and the final price was $45, 405 (including tags) plus state tax.
