Lexus RX 2010
Anyone ever consider the Lexus RX ('10)?
We have one as a loaner for my wife's car for the next 2 days and while I can say the stereo system stinks (vs X), and the seats are a little narrower (and no 3rd row seat), this is a pretty smooth riding car. Handling isn't that bad, acceleration is much more fluid and smooth, and the car is much quieter than the X. Not to mention the fuel economy is 2-3 MPG better -- and it just looks a little more sparkly and polished than the X (IMHO). I'm just saying, it's a little feminine, but its a smooth ride.

I've driven a friend's a few times on the highway. I agree it's a pretty smooth car. I like the instrument panel.
Like my wife's Camry though, the steering is too loosey goosey for my tastes. Besides that the interior is too small for my needs, and I like driving a car I don't see a million times a day.

I know Toyotas/lexus' feel mushy, but the steering tightens up nicely as needed..The one we have is a base RX w. no nav so I cant gauge how nice the dash is in its glory.

The RX is just not in the same class size as the MDX but we did look at one while shopping for vehicle back in 2003. The newer one's are actually quick and fairly responsive as far as RX's are concerned. I quickly dismissed the RX because it was too small. Nice ride and very very comfortable. I have been in the 2010. I have thought if they just expanded the RX to 3 rows and made the vehicle the same size as the MDX, I would consider one for my family next go around. No, I don't like the GX and it was too pricey. The RX is not exactly cheap either fully loaded. LOL

Test drove it, drove it as usual loaner, then drove some more. It is a tat quicker from pick up comparing to the X, but that's all about "pro" that I can say. Ride is a bit harsher than the X in comfort mode. Twist & turn compare to the X in sport mode? well, let's not go there.
If I want a grand papa look, I would get the RX. nuff said. p.s. Don't get me wrong. I currently own 2 Lexuses right now, so this is nothing personal "Toyota". just $0.02

We have always owned toyota and still couldn't stomach the idea of owning an RX. IMO the vehicle may be extremely refined and fine tuned, but it needs a cosmetic overhaul from the rubber to the roof-rack. As formerly mentioned its design is very grandpa-esque.

Your guys are so right tho. My neighbor, who just happens to be a grandpa, drives it. He drives very very slow with it also.
Though he as backed into the fire hydrate on our street so he has a beauty mark on the rear bummer when he purchased new.
