Chicago Area Thread

So whats going on locals? How about them Cubs or Sox? Gas prices. Traffic on the Kennedy, Eisenhower, Jane Adams. Road construction season. Favorite deep dish pizza? Favorite dealer?

Stop lurking and say hello.

The regional forums (or is it fora) are dead. My region never even breathed life I think.

Been to Joy Yees in Evanston, Chinatown and by UIC. LOVE IT! If you are ever by Belmont and Central there is a place on Belmont thats called Jess Cafe. Its almost like Joy Yees but way cheaper. The owner use to be a cook for Joy Yees.

I end up heading to Ponderosa in Aurora. Yes, Ponderosa still exists. Theres still plenty of them in St Louis.

Will keep that in mind re Jess. The Ponderosa is by my neck of the woods. Let me know how the food is. I remember it in the early 80's when it was actually good. I went once in the 90's and the food was like cafeteria food.

I had steak down in St Louis and it was prepared like a top notch restaurant. I had steak in Aurora and it looked so pale with grill marks and tasted horrible. The buffet was pretty good. I would try it out once and see if you like it. After Ponderosa, I went to the outlets, Super Walmart, and had some Sonic for dinner.

For me The big names are really the only ones. The smaller ones that I used to get from are gone. I think only Benny's in Berwyn is still there.

I think I've seen Bennys. I've got a friend who lives out there now and I use to frequent the area way back in the day. I remember they use to have the car spike.
