Bye everyone!
I've been on the board in one way or another since the beginning. I originally came here just to make myself a better technician. I wanted to get the pulse of what's going on with the MDX. Some oddball problem that someone posts about, and then someone else says "yeah that's happening on mine too" helped me form my own little personal database about the MDX. In addition to the one I already have access to working for Acura.
I've never been here to solicit customers for my shop. Very very few of you know who I actually am and where to find me. And I like it that way. I've doled out some advice here and there over the years just to be nice and kill time. I don't have a MDX. Don't much want one. Just wanted to be one of the most capable technicians there is with my company's best selling model. And I think I've done that. As we near the end of the 2nd generation's life cycle, there's really not much for me to learn here anymore. And after my last post in here, I think it's time for me to leave. There's been other mechanics that have come and gone on this forum, and none have gotten under my skin like this guy did for some reason. I think that reason is perhaps I've been looking for a reason to leave. And this guy made it easy. Sorry if that last post makes me seem like some alpha male who got best up and his taking his ball and going home. But I truly think that my presence here has been pretty generous, and for that clown to talk that way to me just gives me absolutely zero motivation to stay. Now I'm not saying this to gather a posse and have anyone go pick on this new guy. He's your forum "pro" now. So best not to scare him off.

SuperTech (ST) it is always annoying when a know it all newcomer tries to become controversial on a forum. WE know your bonafides and we do not know his. You have contributed immeasurably to the people who read your posts.
I would not let some wannabe get under your skin and run you away. Your presence is too valuable. Please reconsider. George

Supertech, I have always enjoyed your input since I joined back in 2007. There is always a limitation in the written word on the internet. I will miss your presence. I got quite upset reading the other thread. Obviously both posters are smart but the name calling and one upping the other got out of hand. Respect was lost in translation. I have never seen Supertech have anything but respect for other posters since I have been on this board.

I have only been a member a very short time but yours was the first post I read. I hate to see anyone leave the forum because it is a place where information is sought. Stay or go is something for you to decide but the world is full of folks who don't realize the power of respect. You have shown respect which no one can ever take from you. Disregard anyone who does not understand this. Nothing needs to be said, just ignore it.
I hope the best for you regardless of your decision and thanks for your help. |

If you go to your User Control Panel, you can easily add users to your "ignore" list. There are a couple stooges around here that I've added to mine and things are much more pleasant without them.
Regardless, you've had some helpful posts and your superior communication skills will be missed.

Stick around supertech, you have valuable advice that people want to read and learn from. It's clearly obvious that you're well repected.

SuperTech,
I don't care if you stay or go. My new Jeep is scheduled for delivery March 10, so I will be out of here myself. However, your leaving would be a major loss to this site. You have answered more questions, and cleared up more 'discussions' that could otherwise have gotten folks going off in the wrong direction. Whether you stay or go, thank you for your work here in the past. Bill |

Completely missed the events that led to this thread, but I wanted to take the time to say thanks for your advice over the past (almost) 5 years both on the boards as well as through direct messaging. Hope you stay but understand if you don't.

SuperTech,
You have always given us good advice over the years, and I have personally benefited from your experience times and times again. I hope you will reconsider your decision to leave the board. That will be a great loss for everyone.

wow. e-thugged. it's a shame you're leaving. honestly, you can't let some interwebz bully come and annoy you. it's cyberspace. sometimes you just have to ignore the ones that irritate you.
best of luck to you...

I am surprised the forum moderator or the owner of this MDX forum did not give the guy referenced a warning as his comments were out of line and isntigated the war of words even though his wiki was helpful for those who can do such reapirs. And if he was given a warning and continued, he should have been suspended or banned.
Forum owners should paly a more active role in avoiding this sort of mud slinging; we don't need this type of bravado posts. Just my $0.02.
