My other Car - 2000 Accord SE Plugs???
Looking for the owners manual or maintenance manual for the car.
First owner, I remember replacing the plugs after 4 years with Bosch Platinum plugs which I was told was too early. Now 8 years going on 9 years after first replacement and just went over 100k miles. Is time to replace the plugs? (for preventive measure). It is running very good, there are no issues with it. I received a gift card from the auto parts store and decided to use it. So I asked the counter person to get me plugs for the car. Then he tells me that the original is supposed to be NGK Double Platinum for 16.99 each, then he gave me other options and was surprised the they had NGK Iridiums for only 6.99, (for my MDX the iridium plugs were about $17 each, so I went with the Iridiums, thinking I am getting a good deal) Now I checked the price online from the same store and he was off a bit, but price is not much my concern since I was using a gift card. Should I stay with the Bosch Platinum plugs? Is NGK Double Platinum plugs the original plugs for the car? Are there pros and cons if I switch to Iridiums? Thank you! |

Hello, the stock plugs for the accord is NGK Iridium. This is for the 2.3L vtec. I changed mine out at approx 120k miles. Got mine at O'Reilly for about $40 if I remember correctly for all 4 plugs.

Sounds about time to change plugs again. I believe the iridium plugs are better, I don't know the complete logistic, I just know those are better. Just remember to gap them properly if they don't come pre gap.

Yes you got it right. It's time you replaced your spark plugs now. You could go with NGK Iridium. Do check online stores too for owner's manual or contact your dealer for the same.
