Does your center console(climate, radio) light up?

Bought the 2008 MDX just a few weeks ago and for the first time had to start it in pitch black. I realized that my dash behind the steering wheel was backlighted but not the center console. I had to turn on the overhead light to find where was the defrost button.

Seems like this should be backlighted but I thought I'd ask here before going to look for a fuse or a lightbulb.

Had same issue the other day. Turned the lights from auto to on to off and back to auto and fixed it. Didn't think too much of it, just some sort of quirk, but turns out that when I took the car in for a couple of recalls they found that the battery was going bad. Had a couple of other weird electrical things going on, but all are good now with the new batt.

when headlights come on, the center console units light up too. You must have a glitch with the electrical, I'd get dealer to look at it if still under warranty.
