The temp sensor is complicated. I've noticed alot of those characteristics and I think some others were wondering about that.

In my experience it is reasonably accurate but goes Haywire after a car wash.

I guess a wet sensor cools down with air flow ‘till it dries off – evaporation and all.

Yea, mine is fairly accurate too. I've had it read from -11 to 100. But now I understand why sometimes its not an instant update.
