Paint Protection

How does the Llumar paint protection film compare to the 3M? There aren't any 3M dealers where I live and Llumar is the only choice in the 2 tint shops that I found in my area. Any feedback is appreciated.

film alternatives

I have been asking the same questions this week. What I am hearing so far is that the 3M product is the only one which will not discolor or peel.

3M is the inventor of paint protection film, and theirs is the only film with an incorporated clearcoat to better match the gloss of your factory paint.

An additional advantage of the clearcoat is that it resists staining better and is easier to maintain.

I have been working with paint protection film for 5 years and have seen side-by-side comparisons of all the films on a painted panel exposed to the same elements. 3M's film remains clearer and glossier than competitor's films.

Good installers know the benefits of 3M and the only reason for an installer to use any other film is to save money. 3M products always carry a premium price tag because the quality is unmatchable. Additionally, if it is a tint shop that is doing it, they are most likely using Llumar's film just because they already use the company's tint.
