After Market Alpine CD Changer

Has anyone put in an after market Alpine CD changer into their MDX? I need to know the model number that works with the existing wiring under the front seat. Any idea?

All that you need is an Alpine CHA-S634 Changer ($225.00), an Alpine KCA-130B MBus to Ai-Net converter ($9.99) a Blitzsafe HON/ALP DMX V.1 Interface ($80.00) and the Honda Pilot OEM08B26-S9V-100 CD Attachment Kit ($60.00)

Adding just a changer is relatively easy. If you add the Alpine, you follow the directions on the above-mentioned link. The only difference is that the KCA-130B plugs into the Changer cable and the other end of the KCA-130B plugs into the Blitzsafe interface. The Blitzsafe then plugs into the Head Unit. This is because the Head Unit has a 14-pin socket and the Alpine cable must be converted to the 14-pin configuration.

What is this? A mounting bracket? Is it available from Tim?

Thanks,

I just finished today reinstalling it. CHA-634. NICE use it in conjuction with the bliztsafe that SteveLuman told me about. I opted not to get the cd install kit since I put it in the headrest storage area in back. The cord that comes with the alpine is long enough. Plus I used velcro for fabric to hold it down.

Sorry, I put the Honda Pilot mounting kit by mistake. The MDX and Pilot kit are virtually identical. Both have the same mounting brackets.

Here is the correct attachment kit for the MDX

Just remember to flip the switch to Mbus if you get the Alpine CHA S634. Warzau and I, can both attest to the need for the switch.

I didn't mention it when suggesting troubleshooting ideas because I didn't want to offend anyone by asking the condenscending question: "Did you read the installation manual?"

C'mon guys - (standard tech support reply) RTFM , "read the freakin manual" Now, don't get upset, I'm just playing around.

Actually it was tweeter who installed it and subsequently fudged up the rest of my install. Yes I read it, I just assumed the installer knew it. In the end I had to fix what they didnt do right in the first place.
