'06 Nav/RES w/Bose play 5.1 audio?

I'm still trying to find out an answer to this one: I have a 2006 Touring with the Bose system and RES. The DVD player will play DVD-Audio, or so it says. I've tried putting in a DVD of music videos with 5.1 DS, but it's playing back in 2.0 stereo. Will that system play audio in 5.1? Does this model even have a center channel?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Apparently the system will play 5.1 audio from a DVD-Audio disc, but not from a video DVD.
