When the kids are watching a movie, I usually hit the mode button on the steering wheel and get it to satellite or whatever I want to hear besides Dora the Explorer or Matilda.

If I play a DVD, I hit "rear power" and leave the main control on my CD, AUX, Radio etc and it always just separates the two for me.
