What does that mean?
![]() When you replace a shock, it's best to replace both shocks on that axle, even if the other one isn't exhibiting any problems. Maybe not if they're both pretty new, but if you've been driving on them for at least 50K+ miles, I'd do both on that axle. |

Replace both if you plan on keeping it for a while, replace one if you are going to sell it in the next 15000 or so miles. If you only replace one, that one will be very hard while the other one will be soft, putting more wear on the new one you just put in.

Usually you would replace both front or rear, BUT at the price of those I wouldn't bother.
Keeping or selling car they cost way too much. Rear are like $600 a piece, front is $800-900 a piece, I would only replace one. KM, Elite, I guess you are in Canada, so price might be even more (sometimes less, you never know), but if this is rear shock be prepared to have to cut the lower bolt, if not, count yourself lucky. Regards, Nino |

You might try going to your dealer and asking them if they can give you a goodwill replacement on them, since your warranty expired only recently. Even if they only give you half off on a replacement, that's still hundreds of dollars in savings. Too bad you have the Elite (Sport) version; the ones for the base and technology versions are only around $100 apiece.
