![]() ![]() ![]() I would like to know how to reset the "Check Airbag System" message. Does anyone know how to do this? Note: I think this message started after I tried to determine which cable near the passenger door contains the door open/closed sensor. I did this using a voltmeter and by temporarily pulling out various plugs in the area of the sensor - unfortunately including the yellow one in the above image that I suspect may be the reason. Does anyone know if this yellow cable is related to the airbag system and if temporarily disconnecting it might cause the "Check Airbag System" message to be displayed? Do I need to take it to Acura to reset the message? Please advise! |

Anything yellow is to do with SRS (air bags) and not to be played with. On a more serious note it can cause your air bag to deploy, and on more annoying note will trigger this code and it must be reset (pulling battery will not do it for you). Going to dealer is one option or if you like to try things on your own ( given your handle I am not sure
, but I guess you do given that you find yourself in this position), try this:I didn't fiddle with MDX, but this should hold true for most Hondas/Acuras: Look for this yellow plug, don't use a clip like youtube poster, but stick 2 long wires into the plug so they can reach into your lap while you sit in the car. Follow his process and short the wires (2 loose ends you are holding) when process calls for it. Once done, light should go away. Like I said, I didn't have to do this on MDX, but if you can locate this yellow plug under dash, you should be good to go... Also, do this at your own risk, as I don't provide any warranties for my suggestions ![]() Regards, Nino |

I've done this on the RL a number of times.
