Hardwire Escort 9500ix in 2nd Gen MDX

I'm a brand new member with a 2009 MDX (tech with power liftgate). I want to hard wire my Escort 9500ix radar detector through the roof overhead console. I have two questions:

1. How to remove the console in a 2nd gen. vehicle; and
2. Which colored wire should I tap into for switched power in the console.

The console come out like in 1st gen MDX's, i.e., remove moonroof switch, pull out light assembly, and remove the four screws (2 rear and 2 in the top of the sunglasses holder in front) holding the console in place. Now if someone would be kind enough to identify the appropriate wire to tap (or tell me how I can tell for myself), I'm good to go on the hardwiring. I'll post pix when the project is finished.

So while I was deciding which wire to tap from the overhead console, I came across invisicord. Took all of 1 minuite to hook the cord up to the auto-dimming mirror and the detector, and now all is good. Thought you should know.

Thread revival, but I followed this with my V1 install and it was perfect.

Red V1 --> Yellow Mirror
Black V1 --> Ground to the sunroof motor bolt

did the RVM route, works perfect. there are 3 wires. the passenger side wire is (+) the center wire is GND.

A company called blendmount makes a holder that attaches to the rearview and a wiring harness to tap into the rearview harness connector. Clean install, no trim removal, available for V1 and escort. (not affiliated with them, just passing the info along).
