Haven't seen anyone do that. Not sure the cost would suffice doing it.

Jmho..

Check into the Garmin Nuvi. I've used one for several years and it's quicker to respond than the factory unit in my Acura MDX. It does everything I need it to do AND I can use it in all of my vehicles. I can even use it as a pedometer if I wanted to. For what it's worth....

Hint: You can buy one from Costco or Costco.com. Use it for 90 days and if you don't like it you can return it to ANY Costco store. Just a suggestion. I got mine from Costco.com and kept it. Let us know what you decide.

Just one thing about Costco, you can keep it for longer than 90 days. GPS's are not subject to the 90 day rule. You can return it forever, just keep your receipt and the original box.

Thumbs up good to know!!

I thought they fell into Costco's electronic 90-day return policy. so this is all the more reason to get one from them and give it a REAL test! What can you loose? A no-brainer for me. They also sell other brands so you can give them a workout too. Thanks for the info....

Nope. I have returned 4 or 5 of them when the price has dropped or maps have been updated.

I have refused to pay for these darn map updates. So far it has only bit me once and taken me to a one car ferry. I'll accept my loss of travel time vs the price of updating maps. Otherwise, my Garmin NUVI has been great.

And we wonder why companies continue to let people get by with this thievery.

Don't have much experience with them, but I've always heard that TomTom units don't charge you for updates.
