In the past few days a few people offered to
donate money to benefit the site. I thought long
and hard about this and decided to give it a try
and allow folks to donate $$$ through paypal into
an ACURAMDX.ORG Fund. How will the money be used?
Well, there are many things that have been on
my to-do list for quite a while, but unfortunately
cost money. These things are:
1. Finally moving to a new and dedicated server.
This will solve our daily "too many connections"
problem.
2. I'd like to hire a designer to give the site
a brand new look and feel.
3. I'd like to hire a designer to create nice
looking t-shirts and other merchandise.
4. I have been eyeing this nice Armani suite
for some time :) . Sorry, couldn't resist.
If you have any other ideas, do not hesitate
to post them on the board.
Now, giving money without some immediate gratification
is, well, boring. So all contributors will receive:
* Your own ACURAMDX.ORG web page. That's right,
a little piece of real estate on our site. This
is your chance to show off your HTML! Don't know
HTML? This is your chance to learn
it! The link to your page will be shown beside
your screen name, wherever your screen name is
displayed.
* You own @acuramdx.org webmail. You are correct,
you will be able to have <yourscreenname>@acuramdx.org
email, and using webmail integrated into our forums,
you'll be able to send/receive using your brand
new email address.
* You will be marked as a Contributor by a special
icon, displayed wherever your screen name is displayed:
* I will try to think of some other perks. And
as always, I'm open to ideas.
